The Acely EV01 is positioning itself as one of Nigeria’s boldest entries into the growing Electric Vehicle (EV) market, combining local assembly, advanced driver technology, and long-range electric mobility in a premium crossover SUV.

Developed by Hybrid Motors Nigeria, the Acely EV01 is being marketed as a homegrown electric crossover built for modern Nigerian drivers. The vehicle arrives as consumers and businesses continue searching for alternatives to rising fuel and transportation costs.

The SUV is available in two variants: the SE model priced from ₦48.5 million and the CE version priced from ₦54.5 million.

Hybrid Motors says the Acely EV01 is powered by a 99 kW electric motor and can travel up to 500 km on a single charge. The company also equipped the SUV with Level 2 ADAS Technology, giving drivers access to advanced safety and driver-assistance features increasingly found in modern global vehicle platforms.

Built for Nigerian Roads and Urban Mobility

According to the company, the Acely EV01 was designed to balance comfort, utility, and smart safety while adapting to Nigerian road conditions.

The vehicle features SUV styling, automatic transmission, practical ground clearance, and an electric powertrain intended for both urban and intercity driving. Hybrid Motors said the EV was developed in partnership with Launch Design Shanghai.

The company describes the model as part of a broader effort to expand Local Auto Manufacturing and reduce dependence on fossil fuel-powered transportation.

Assembly partnerships linked to Lagos and Abuja form part of the vehicle’s local production strategy, highlighting Nigeria’s increasing interest in domestic vehicle manufacturing and cleaner mobility systems.

Electric SUV Market Faces Infrastructure Questions

The launch of the Acely EV01 comes as interest in Sustainable Transportation continues to grow globally. However, the Nigerian EV market still faces major questions around charging infrastructure, electricity stability, and affordability.

At over ₦48 million, the Acely EV01 targets premium buyers, corporate fleets, and technology-focused consumers interested in electric mobility.

Still, the SUV’s local assembly story could become one of its strongest selling points. Supporters of domestic manufacturing say Nigerian-assembled EVs may help stimulate industrial growth, technical partnerships, and future automotive investment.

The Acely EV01 also reflects a wider global shift toward electric transportation as automakers continue moving away from internal combustion engines.

For Nigeria, the success of vehicles like the Acely EV01 may depend on how quickly supporting infrastructure develops and whether consumers begin embracing EV ownership despite current energy challenges.

But for now, the launch places the Acely EV01 at the center of Nigeria’s growing conversation about the future of mobility, technology, and local automotive innovation.
