The Volvo EX60, a new all-electric mid-size SUV, marks the Swedish carmaker’s boldest push yet into the world’s largest electric vehicle segment. With class-leading range, ultra-fast charging and a simplified buying experience, Volvo is positioning the EX60 as the moment when electric driving stops feeling like a compromise.

At the centre of the pitch is confidence. The five-seat family SUV can travel up to 810 kilometres on a single charge, more than any electric Volvo before it and ahead of newly revealed rivals. For drivers, that translates into fewer charging stops and more freedom on long journeys.

Electric SUV Range and Fast Charging

Charging speed matches the ambition. Using a 400kW fast charger, the EX60 can add up to 340km of range in just 10 minutes, roughly the length of a coffee break. Volvo says this combination of range and charging turns “range anxiety into range comfort.”

Volvo Cars EV Architecture and Cost Efficiency

Built on the new SPA3 electric architecture and powered by the HuginCore system, the EX60 introduces technologies such as cell-to-body battery design, mega casting and next-generation in-house electric motors. These innovations reduce weight, improve energy efficiency and lower manufacturing costs—key factors in pricing competitiveness.

Battery Warranty and Ownership Experience

The EX60 comes with a 10-year battery warranty, reinforcing Volvo’s focus on long-term ownership confidence. In Sweden, private buyers also receive three years of free home charging, with the offer set to expand to other markets.

Autonomous Safety Systems and AI Integration

As Volvo’s most intelligent car yet, the EX60 debuts Google’s Gemini AI assistant, enabling natural voice conversations without memorised commands. Safety remains central, with a strengthened boron-steel safety cage, advanced sensors and a world-first multi-adaptive safety belt.

Orders open first in Europe, with U.S. availability planned for late spring 2026. Production begins this spring in Sweden, with customer deliveries starting summer 2026.

By removing range anxiety, Volvo Cars believes it has removed the final excuse.
