Bombardier has built a reputation for engineering some of the most advanced and luxurious business jets in the world. With nearly 40 years of aviation excellence, the Canadian aerospace giant continues to push boundaries in speed, comfort, and range.
From the game-changing Challenger series to the record-breaking Global 7500 and the soon-to-launch Global 8000, here’s a closer look at the jets that define Bombardier’s legacy in private aviation.
Challenger 3500: The Super-Midsize Leader
The Challenger 300 set a new standard when it debuted in 2003, and its successor, the Challenger 3500, continues to lead the super-midsize market. Certified in 2021, the jet combines cutting-edge technology with refined luxury, making it one of the most sought-after aircraft in its class.
With a top cruise speed of 637 mph and a range of 3,913 nautical miles, the Challenger 3500 is designed for seamless coast-to-coast travel. Its award-winning interior features voice-controlled lighting, temperature, and entertainment management. Passengers enjoy zero-gravity Nuage seating, advanced sound insulation, and side-panel controls that integrate with smartphones.
“Business jet buyers demand performance and innovation, and the Challenger 3500 delivers on both,” said Eric Martel, Bombardier’s CEO. “It’s a perfect blend of efficiency, comfort, and advanced technology.”
Global 7500: The Industry Benchmark
With over 200 units delivered and a price tag of $80 million, the Global 7500 is the flagship of Bombardier’s fleet. It holds more than 75 speed records and redefined ultra-long-range travel with its blend of performance and luxury.
The aircraft, which accommodates up to 19 passengers, features four customizable living zones, including a full-size bedroom with a stand-up shower. The Soleil lighting system, designed around circadian rhythms, helps minimize jet lag, making long-haul flights more comfortable. Additionally, the professional-grade galley and ultra-quiet cabin set new standards in the industry.
“Nothing compares to the Global 7500 when it comes to cabin space, range, and overall experience,” said Jean-Christophe Gallagher, EVP of Bombardier Aviation. “It’s truly the pinnacle of private air travel.”
Global 8000: The Future of Business Aviation
Slated to enter service in 2025, the $82 million Global 8000 is set to become the fastest and farthest-flying business jet on the market. Built on the Global 7500 platform, it boasts a record-breaking top cruise speed of Mach 0.94 (721 mph) and a range of 8,000 nautical miles—enabling nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Singapore.
During testing in 2021, the Global 8000 made history as the fastest business jet since the Concorde, officially breaking the sound barrier. Beyond speed, its cabin innovations redefine luxury, offering Ka-band global internet, zero-gravity seating, and hospital-grade HEPA air filtration to enhance passenger well-being.
“For those who demand the best in performance and comfort, the Global 8000 is in a league of its own,” Martel added. “It’s a masterpiece of aviation engineering.”
