Arcadia Yachts, an Italian shipbuilder, has launched the A80new, a 78-foot yacht designed for eco-conscious adventurers seeking ultimate freedom on the water.

Unveiled ahead of its debut at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival, the A80new is built to meet the world’s strictest anchoring regulations, allowing owners to drop anchor in any bay or cove without harming marine life. It’s a bold step toward more sustainable yachting, combining luxury, comfort, and environmental responsibility.

The yacht integrates solar panels generating 4.5 kWh of green energy, stored in onboard batteries to power its hotel load, lights, appliances, and onboard systems, significantly reducing reliance on diesel when anchored.

Innovative design meets luxury living

The A80new is Arcadia’s first Raised Pilot House (RPH) yacht, boasting a newly configured wide-body layout. This innovative design results in a roomier interior and the largest upper deck in its class, spanning nearly 860 square feet.

The vessel includes five guest cabins, a primary suite on the main deck, and two crew cabins in the bow, an unheard-of arrangement for a yacht of this size. A standout beach club, complete with side wings and a swim platform, adds to its luxury appeal.

Inside, natural wood finishes, soft ambient lighting, and a 10-seat dining table create a bright, elegant atmosphere for entertaining guests at sea.

Performance without compromise

The A80new is powered by dual Volvo Penta IPS engines, offering a cruising speed of 16–18 knots and a maximum speed of up to 21 knots. While not fully emissions-free, the yacht offers a cleaner alternative to traditional motor yachts in the 78-foot category.

The Cannes Yachting Festival, running from 9–17 September, will also showcase Arcadia’s A96new, Sherpa 60, and Sherpa 80, each built with shallow draughts and energy-efficient engines for wider exploration.

With nearly 700 vessels on display and over 500 exhibitors, the event promises to be a landmark moment for the next generation of sustainable yachting.
