South Africa’s automotive industry is gearing up for a major boost as 21 new car models are set to make their grand entrance in the second half of 2023. This year has already witnessed the launch of 47 impressive models, and the momentum is showing no signs of slowing down.
From January to June, the country witnessed the arrival of 19 vehicles, and the following months saw an additional 28 new models hitting the roads. Now, South Africans can anticipate the debut of 21 more remarkable cars by the end of the year.
Among the highlights are both new additions to existing lineups and entirely fresh entries. Enthusiasts can expect to see the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio and the automatic Citroen C3, as well as South Africa’s first hybrid bakkie, the JAC T9. The GWM Ora, an electric vehicle, is also among the exciting newcomers.
Although some models, such as the Kia Picanto and the five-door Suzuki Jimny, are confirmed to arrive in the country, their official release dates are yet to be disclosed. These much-anticipated vehicles might grace the market either by the end of 2023 or early 2024.
