The opportunity to drive home a brand-new Toyota Starlet will be one of the major attractions at the maiden Kojo Motorshow, scheduled to hold from December 3 to 5, 2026, at the company’s showroom in Abuja.

The three-day event is expected to provide a platform for customers, automobile enthusiasts and prospective vehicle buyers to explore the company’s offerings while participating in a promotional campaign featuring the Toyota Starlet as the grand prize in a raffle draw.

Beyond the excitement surrounding the opportunity to win a car, the promotion draws attention to the qualities that have made compact hatchbacks an attractive option for motorists seeking a practical vehicle for daily commuting, personal business and family transportation.

For drivers navigating the busy streets of Abuja and other Nigerian cities, the Toyota Starlet offers a combination of compact dimensions, contemporary styling, useful technology and everyday practicality.
Its appeal lies in the balance between manageable proportions and the convenience expected of a modern passenger car.

Compact Design for the Urban Driver

The Toyota Starlet’s compact hatchback design makes it particularly suited to urban mobility, where manoeuvrability, parking convenience and ease of use are important considerations.
The model’s dimensions are approximately 3,995mm in length, 1,745mm in width and 1,500mm in height, depending on specification. These proportions give it a relatively small footprint for navigating busy roads and fitting into parking spaces.

Its five-door configuration also provides convenient access to the cabin for the driver and passengers, while the rear hatch offers practical access to the luggage compartment.

For young professionals, small families, business owners and other motorists seeking a versatile everyday vehicle, these characteristics make the Starlet a compelling option to consider.

A Cabin Designed Around Comfort and Connectivity

Inside, the Toyota Starlet combines a straightforward cabin layout with features designed to make daily journeys more comfortable and convenient.
Depending on the variant, the five-seat interior offers fabric upholstery, an adjustable steering wheel, power windows, power steering and an air-conditioning system designed to provide comfort during journeys in Nigeria’s warm climate.
The driver’s seating position and steering-wheel adjustment help support a more comfortable driving posture, while the cabin layout places key controls within convenient reach.

Technology another important aspect of the Starlet’s appeal.

Depending on the trim level, the car comes with a touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. These features allow compatible smartphones to connect with the vehicle’s infotainment system, making it easier for drivers to access supported applications and audio entertainment.
Steering-wheel audio controls are also available on specified versions, allowing drivers to operate selected infotainment functions without having to reach for the central display.

Other convenience features available on selected variants include keyless entry, automatic climate control, a front armrest and a rear seatback that folds in a 60:40 configuration to provide additional luggage flexibility.

The arrangement makes the Starlet suitable for a variety of everyday activities, from commuting to work and shopping to weekend outings.

Equipment varies by market and trim level, so prospective buyers should confirm the exact specification of the vehicle being offered at the Kojo Motorshow.

Performance: A Practical Partner for Everyday Motoring

Under the bonnet, the Nigerian-market Toyota Starlet specification listed by Toyota’s local distributor features a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine producing approximately 105 horsepower at 6,000rpm and 138Nm of torque at 4,400rpm.
The engine is paired with a manual or automatic transmission, depending on the variant.
This powertrain provides the performance required for everyday commuting, routine business trips and journeys beyond the city, while the car’s compact proportions make it well suited to the demands of urban driving.

Its front-wheel-drive configuration and MacPherson-strut front suspension are designed to support conventional everyday road use.

Starlet’s relatively lightweight construction also complements its role as a compact passenger car. Its 37-litre fuel tank provides a useful capacity for regular commuting, although actual fuel consumption will depend on driving conditions, traffic, vehicle maintenance and driving style.

Safety and driver-assistance equipment available on specified variants includes anti-lock braking, electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, airbags and rear parking sensors.

These features contribute to the vehicle’s everyday usability, particularly when negotiating traffic, parking in confined spaces or setting off on inclines.

Taken together, the Starlet’s compact dimensions, practical cabin and accessible performance give it a clear identity as a car designed around everyday mobility rather than unnecessary complexity.

Kojo Motors Bets on Customer Engagement

For Kojo Motors, the maiden motorshow represents an opportunity to strengthen customer engagement and bring prospective buyers closer to its vehicle offerings.

The Toyota Starlet raffle promotion is expected to be one of the event’s headline attractions, providing an additional incentive for visitors to participate in the three-day showcase.

Maxwell Oguegbu, Executive Director of Kojo Motors, said the company wanted the maiden edition of the motorshow to go beyond displaying vehicles by creating an engaging experience for customers.
According to him, the Toyota Starlet reflects the practical mobility needs of motorists who want a vehicle that combines convenience, comfort and functionality.

He said: “The Toyota Starlet represents the kind of everyday mobility that many motorists are looking for: a compact, comfortable and practical vehicle that fits into their daily routines. With our maiden Kojo Motorshow, we want to give customers an opportunity to experience our offerings, engage with our team and participate in an exciting event. The Starlet raffle promotion adds another dimension to that experience, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to our Abuja showroom.”

The quotation is proposed editorial copy for Maxwell Oguegbu and should be confirmed with him before publication.

Three Days of Motoring and Opportunity

For prospective visitors, the event presents an opportunity to explore available vehicles, learn more about their features and engage directly with the company’s representatives.
The Toyota Starlet promotion is expected to provide a major talking point, especially among motorists attracted to compact cars that combine contemporary styling with practical everyday features.
The terms and conditions governing participation in the raffle, including eligibility requirements and the draw process, should be obtained from Kojo Motors ahead of the event.

Ultimately, the message behind the promotion is straightforward: a vehicle designed for everyday city life could become the grand prize that puts a lucky participant behind the wheel of a Toyota Starlet. lt offers a chance to connect with customers in a fresh way. For visitors, it promises three days of motoring engagement, vehicle discovery and the excitement.
