Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has stunned the Formula 1 world by announcing he will leave Mercedes and join rivals Ferrari at the end of the 2024 season. This blockbuster move, expected to be officially confirmed later today, sees Hamilton team up with Charles Leclerc at the Scuderia in a dream pairing for many fans.
“It’s a difficult decision to leave Mercedes after so many incredible years,” said Hamilton in a statement. “But the chance to drive for Ferrari, a team with such a rich history and passionate fanbase, is something I couldn’t resist.
