In a creative partnership, BMW ventured into the realm of vehicular artworks, collaborating with the Städel Museum in Germany. Their latest project involved commissioning renowned artist Marc Brandenburg to infuse his unique style into a BMW iX1, pushing the boundaries of traditional art and challenging norms.

Marc Brandenburg, hailing from Berlin but having spent significant years in the US, is known for his distinctive and thought-provoking drawings. His art seeks to explore new perspectives and defy conventional artistic interpretations, which made him the perfect fit for this unusual venture.

The artistically enhanced BMW iX1 was recently unveiled in the picturesque Städel Garden. During the unveiling, Marc Brandenburg and Svenja Grosser, Deputy Head of Contemporary Art at the Städel Museum, explained the conceptual brilliance behind the car’s design. Some may wonder if art should really need an explanation, but both the artists and BMW firmly believe that this transformed vehicle is more than just a mode of transportation; it is a moving masterpiece, blurring the lines between art and mobility.

But the collaboration doesn’t end with this single creation. BMW and the Städel Museum have bigger plans to promote contemporary art to a wider audience through a series of events titled STÄDEL INVITES. These events aim to make contemporary art accessible and engaging for everyone. The upcoming exhibition in December will feature the works of Miron Schmückle, providing visitors with an opportunity to delve into the captivating world of contemporary art and explore the exciting connections with the artist’s creations.
