Mercedes-Benz is closing the curtain on one of its most spirited compact sedans, the AMG CLA 45 S. The German marque has announced a limited “Final Edition” of the model, expected to arrive early next year. This version will mark the last fully gas-powered CLA before the brand switches gears toward electrification.
Launched in 2013, the CLA has evolved into a performance favorite. But change is accelerating. The upcoming third-generation CLA, part of the 2026 model lineup, will ride on Mercedes’ new Modular Architecture (MMA) platform. This marks a pivotal shift as the next CLA debuts with a fully electric powertrain, with a hybrid option possibly arriving later.
Before that, the Final Edition gives enthusiasts one last adrenaline-fueled ride. Dressed exclusively in Mountain Grey Magno with yellow trim and black accents, the car features AMG’s Aerodynamics Package Plus and bespoke 19-inch matte black wheels. Inside, black microsuede and MB-Tex leather are highlighted with yellow contrast stitching and “45 S Final Edition” badging throughout. Under the hood, it retains the 421-hp 2.0L turbo engine, which rockets from 0–60 mph in just 4 seconds, topping out at 155 mph.
Mercedes hasn’t disclosed how many units will be built, but pricing is expected to exceed the standard CLA 45 S’s $67,050. Deliveries are set for early 2026, a final bow before the CLA turns a new, electric page.
