Swedish hypercar brand Koenigsegg has officially sold out every vehicle in its collection, past, present, and future. From the retro-styled CC850 to the 1,602-horsepower Sadair’s Spear, not a single unit remains available, regardless of how deep your pockets are.
“All our models are presently sold out,” founder Christian von Koenigsegg told Top Gear. “We have nothing to sell, which is kind of good, but also annoying because it’s fun to interact and supply enthusiasts with their dreams come true.”
The company’s entire output, including 125 Jeskos, 70 CC850s, 300 Gemeras, and 30 Sadair’s Spears, a track-focused evolution of the Jesko Attack, has been reserved. The Sadair’s Spear, priced at around $5 million, was sold out before it was even officially unveiled earlier this week.
While global automakers shift toward electric hypercars, Koenigsegg remains steadfast in its devotion to combustion-powered innovation. “After a while, you want to feel something. You want to talk to the beast,” von Koenigsegg said, emphasizing the emotional connection of ICE vehicles over electric alternatives.
Despite having no stock left, Koenigsegg is already working on several new projects, including a successor to the Jesko and more derivatives from the hybrid Gemera platform. However, prospective buyers will have to wait another 12 to 18 months before order books reopen.
“There’s very little appetite in the market for fully electric hypercars at this level,” von Koenigsegg added. “Electric cars feel more like robots. Our cars feel alive, they breathe, they roar, they talk back.”
For now, Koenigsegg enthusiasts can only watch and wait. But one thing is certain; in an era of electrification, Koenigsegg’s fire-breathing machines still spark global demand.
