Zeekr, an electric vehicle startup has announced the completion of its 10,000th Zeekr 007 sedan, just 56 days after the commencement of production. This milestone underscores the rapid growth and strong market reception for the 007, a sporty sedan that aims to compete with the popular Tesla Model 3.
Impressive early success
The 007, a recent addition to Zeekr’s lineup, has garnered significant attention in China. Prior to its global unveiling in December, more than 51,000 pre-orders were placed in just 40 days. Zeekr is optimistic about the 007’s potential to outpace the Tesla Model 3 in sales within the Chinese market this year.
To commemorate the 10,000th unit, the milestone vehicle, painted in a sleek white color, featured a special message displayed across the front LED light bar, proudly proclaiming ‘The 10,000th Zeekr 007.’
Affordability and value
A key factor contributing to the 007’s appeal is its affordability. In China, the starting price is 209,900 yuan (~$29,000), with the highest configuration reaching 299,900 yuan (~$41,700). While not the cheapest electric vehicle available in China, the 007 offers notable value for its specifications.
Innovative battery options
Customers can choose between a CATL battery and Zeekr’s proprietary ‘Golden Battery.’ The Golden Battery, with a 75 kWh capacity and lithium-iron phosphate technology, provides an impressive range of 688 km (427 miles). Notably, Zeekr claims it supports peak charging speeds of up to 500 kW, allowing a range boost of 500 km (311 miles) in just 15 minutes. For those seeking extended range, the 100 kWh CATL battery option offers a travel distance of up to 870 km (541 miles) between charges.
Powerful performance
The Zeekr 007 offers various configurations, starting with an entry-level model featuring a 416 hp (310 kW) silicon carbide rear electric motor. The all-wheel-drive version combines this rear motor with a 165 kW (221 hp) front motor, enabling the 007 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in an impressive 2.84 seconds.
