Jetour has officially launched its tech-forward Dashing SUV in Nigeria. It aims to disrupt the compact SUV market with a blend of innovation, digital features, and affordability.
The Dashing, a compact SUV under Jetour’s expanding portfolio, delivers a sophisticated mix of design, comfort, and performance. It is positioned as a smart mobility option for Nigeria’s tech-savvy drivers, young professionals, and growing urban families seeking value without compromising on quality.
Under the hood, the Dashing is powered by either a 1.5-litre or 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that generates up to 145 kilowatts of power and 290 Newton-meters of torque. This is paired with a dual-clutch automatic transmission and a four-cylinder, 16-valve DVVT system, offering smooth performance in a five-seater configuration optimized for comfort and space.
Jetour has equipped the Dashing with a suite of modern safety and driver assistance technologies. These include automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, electronic parking brake, auto-hold function, forward and backward collision alerts, and blind spot monitoring. A 360-degree surround camera system, complemented by a 540-degree panoramic parking sensor, enhances visibility and control in tight urban settings. The vehicle also comes with a door opening warning system, automatic door locking features, and a real-time environment sensing display that keeps drivers constantly informed.
Inside, the Dashing stands out with its expansive 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, supporting both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system integrates Bluetooth, intelligent voice control, and a wireless phone charger for seamless digital connectivity. Entertainment is bolstered by eight surround Hi-Fi speakers, delivering immersive sound that brings a cinema-like feel to the driving experience.
Its aesthetic design includes a large grille, strong front beltline, smooth LED headlights, and aerodynamic bodywork. A full panoramic sunroof adds to the spaciousness of the cabin, bathing the interior in natural light. Comfort features such as ventilated and heated power seats, seat memory, lumbar support, and a smart adaptive cruise control system elevate the driving experience. Additional highlights include remote start, smart keyless entry, multiple drive modes, column gear shifting, and an automatic air conditioning system with rear vents and an environmental purification function.
Jetour, backed by Chinese automotive giant Chery, is strengthening its foothold in Nigeria’s growing automotive market with a focus on customer-centric innovation. The company says the Dashing aligns with its broader strategy to deliver high-tech, value-driven vehicles in emerging markets.
As the local SUV segment continues to grow, the Dashing presents a strong challenge to established players such as Toyota and Kia. Jetour’s strategy combines premium features and affordability, making the Dashing a compelling option for Nigerians seeking modern mobility solutions without the premium price tag.
