Audi, a German automotive company and Fantic, an Italian motorbike company, have partnered to make a new electric mountain bike with four levels of electric assistance.

The electric bicycle, inspired by Audi’s RS Q e-tron Dakar racer has a 36-Volt Fantic Integra battery pack and a 90Nm torque motor. It also comes with a lightweight aluminium frame that is made to be efficient on rough terrain, while its speed and battery life are shown on a digital display on the handlebars.

Furthermore, the launch of this electric mountain bike shows that Audi is serious about making high-end transportation that is good for the environment. Andrew Doyle, Audi UK Director said that the bike is “another great example of how we can give customers more ways to get around besides the award-winning cars they drive.”

The Audi RS Q e-tron Dakar racer costs $10,131 USD (£8,499 GBP) and can be bought online. It comes in three sizes and costs $10,131 USD (£8,499 GBP).
