Hyundai Motors Nigeria has strengthened its SUV portfolio with the launch of the all-new Hyundai Mufasa and Hyundai Grand Creta, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to offering innovative, stylish, and technologically advanced vehicles to Nigerian customers.

The introduction of both models marks another important milestone in Hyundai’s efforts to provide a wider range of mobility solutions tailored to the needs of Nigerian families, professionals, and business executives.

Representing Hyundai Motors Nigeria at the launch, Mr. Gaurav Vashisht, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, highlighted the company’s continued focus on delivering vehicles that combine quality, reliability, performance, and value.

The SUV segment continues to attract strong interest in Nigeria, as customers increasingly prioritise comfort, safety, technology and versatility. With the introduction of the Hyundai Mufasa and Grand Creta, we are offering two distinctive vehicles designed to meet different lifestyle requirements while maintaining Hyundai’s global standards of quality and innovation,” said Mr. Vashisht.

Hyundai Mufasa: Bold, Powerful and Designed for Modern Living

The all-new Hyundai Mufasa makes a strong impression with its distinctive exterior styling, bold front grille, signature LED lighting design, and muscular proportions. Developed for customers seeking an SUV with a confident road presence, the Mufasa combines contemporary styling with everyday driving practicality.

Under the bonnet, the Mufasa features a 2.0-litre Smartstream MPi petrol engine, paired with a smooth six-speed automatic transmission. Depending on the market specification, the engine delivers approximately 150–160 PS of power and 193 Nm of torque, providing responsive performance for both city driving and highway journeys.

The Mufasa features a front-wheel-drive configuration and a 54-litre fuel tank, offering a practical balance between performance and driving convenience.

Measuring approximately 4,475 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and up to 1,685 mm in height, with a 2,680 mm wheelbase, the Mufasa provides a spacious five-seater cabin designed around driver and passenger comfort.

Inside, the SUV offers a modern dashboard layout, digital display technology, convenient storage compartments, and comfortable seating arrangements. Depending on the variant, available equipment includes a touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, automatic climate control, wireless charging, and selectable driving modes.

Safety and driver assistance are also important elements of the Mufasa’s design, with available technologies including Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), parking assistance, airbags and other driver-support features, depending on the vehicle specification.
With its combination of modern styling, practical cabin space, and capable engine performance, the Mufasa is positioned as an attractive choice for young professionals, executives and families seeking a versatile SUV.

Hyundai Grand Creta: Seven-Seater Comfort with Exceptional Versatility

Complementing the Mufasa is the Hyundai Grand Creta, a spacious seven-seater SUV designed for families and customers seeking additional passenger capacity, enhanced comfort, and everyday versatility.

The Grand Creta offers an elegant and commanding exterior design, complemented by a spacious three-row interior that provides seating for up to seven occupants.

The Grand Creta’s available 2.0-litre Smart stream petrol engine produces approximately 159 PS of power and 191 Nm of torque. Paired with a six-speed automatic transmission on automatic variants, the engine provides smooth acceleration and capable performance for daily commuting and long-distance travel.

The Grand Creta has a wheelbase of 2,760 mm, contributing to generous cabin space and improved passenger comfort. Its flexible seating arrangement allows families to adapt the interior for additional passengers or luggage as required.

Designed with convenience in mind, the Grand Creta offers a range of modern technologies, including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity on selected specifications, rear air-conditioning vents, keyless entry, push-button start and a digital instrument cluster on higher variants.

Additional comfort features available on selected trims include leather-appointed seating, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, wireless charging and a panoramic sunroof.
Safety features offered across Grand Creta variants include six airbags, ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-start Assist Control, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points.
The Grand Creta’s spacious interior, practical seating flexibility and modern convenience features make it particularly suitable for Nigerian families seeking greater comfort without sacrificing SUV styling and driving performance.

Strengthening Hyundai’s presence in Nigeria

Speaking further at the launch, Mr. Vashisht reaffirmed Hyundai Motors Nigeria’s commitment to delivering vehicles that meet the expectations of customers across different segments of the market.
“At Hyundai Motors Nigeria, our objective is not simply to introduce new vehicles but to deliver a complete ownership experience. The Hyundai Mufasa appeals to customers who appreciate bold design, modern technology and dynamic performance, while the Grand Creta provides the space, comfort and versatility required by larger families”.

“Both models reflect our commitment to offering customers more choices, supported by our authorised dealership network, professional after-sales services and genuine spare parts. We remain focused on building long-term customer confidence in the Hyundai brand,” he added.

The introduction of the Mufasa and Grand Creta further strengthens Hyundai’s existing SUV portfolio, which includes the Creta, Tucson, Santa Fe and Palisade.

With Nigerian customers increasingly seeking vehicles that offer a balance of performance, comfort, fuel efficiency, safety and long-term ownership value, Hyundai Motors Nigeria continues to position itself as a competitive player in the country’s automotive sector.

The launch of these two models demonstrates the company’s determination to expand its product offering while bringing modern automotive design and innovation closer to Nigerian motorists.
