Rolls-Royce unwraps Arcadia Droptail, a luxury on wheels

Renowned for its opulence, Rolls-Royce has once again set a standard of luxury with this latest addition.

Rolls-Royce, a British automaker, has officially taken the wraps off its latest creation, the Arcadia Droptail, and it’s nothing short of a dream on wheels, a car that seems to have emerged from the realms of fantasy.

Part of the manufacturer’s exclusive coachbuilt series, the Arcadia Droptail marks the third installment of Rolls-Royce’s V12 roadsters.

“The Arcadia Droptail is named after a mystical paradise land dreamt up by the Ancient Greeks, and it’s supposed to evoke that sort of feeling within anyone who gets behind the wheel,” says Alex Innes, head of Rolls-Royce’ coachbuilding division.

With only four Droptails slated for production, each with a price-tag exceeding $25 million, exclusivity and craftsmanship define this masterpiece.

Innes, speaking further, said, “The significance of Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail lies in its subtlety. This motor car is one of the most faithful expressions of an individual’s personal style and sensibilities we have ever created within the Coachbuild department.”

The Arcadia Droptail’s allure extends beyond its exquisite exterior. The interior boasts the finest leather in brown and tan hues, alongside hardwood features coated in a bespoke lacquer to maintain pristine condition.

Crafting such luxury demands meticulous attention to detail. Inside, a classic Rolls-Royce clock stands as a testament to the brand’s commitment to excellence, taking two years of development and five months of assembly.

“We build Coachbuild cars like they build a yacht. The car stays in one place, we move to it,” Innes explained, underscoring the bespoke nature of each creation.

Despite its serene appearance, the Arcadia Droptail houses a powerful V12 engine, ensuring both elegance and performance.

Reflecting on the process, Innes remarks, “In capturing their spirit, we reveal a unique appreciation for simplicity, serenity, and beautifully restrained elegance – one that was a privilege for me to have been a part of.”
