Acer, one of the world’s top ICT companies founded in 1976, has expanded into the e-bike market with the launch of its new lightweight e-bike model, the ebii.
The ebii is designed for individuals seeking a convenient and speedy means of commuting. It features a minimalist yet technologically advanced design with airless tires made from recycled materials, collision detection sensors, and a powerful electric motor.
Weighing approximately 35 pounds, the ebii is a single-motor bike that integrates speed, smart technology, and smartphone compatibility. It is equipped with several safety features, including an anti-theft alarm and an auto-lock function that activates when the connected smartphone is out of range.
“The all-new Acer ebii delivers on our commitment to sustainability through technology and creative design, further driven by the desire to enhance user mobility and experiences,” said Acer Co-COO Jerry Kao. “As urban commuters seek convenient, safe, and greener options, the Acer ebii’s AI assistance and innovative safety features empower them to go further, faster.”
With a 250/350 W, a single charge of the ebii takes about two and a half hours and provides up to 70 miles of battery life. The maximum speed of the bike is 20 MPH, and the battery can also be used as a portable charger for laptops and phones.
However, the ebii is not suitable for individuals without smartphones as users need to download a dedicated app for information on battery life, recommended routes, speed checks, and to lock and unlock the bike.
Acer has yet to announce the pricing and release date of the ebii. Nonetheless, with its impressive features, it is expected to shake up the e-bike market.
