BYD’s “God’s Eye” system, previously reserved for higher-end models, is now standard across 21 vehicles, including the Seagull hatchback priced at just 69,800 yuan ($9,555). This move positions BYD as a pioneer in making intelligent driving features accessible to a broader consumer base. “2025 will be the first year of intelligent driving for all,” declared BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu during a recent event in Shenzhen.

Competitors like Leapmotor, Geely, and Toyota are now compelled to reevaluate their strategies to keep pace. BYD’s market share in China rose to 13.6% in the first quarter, up from 12.1% the previous year, while Volkswagen’s share declined from 13.7% to 12.1%.
