Lewis Hamilton has found new life at Ferrari. After three frustrating years at Mercedes, the seven-time Formula 1 champion is embracing what could be the final, and most defining, chapter of his career.

“It’s a completely new chapter,” Hamilton said in an exclusive interview. “I genuinely feel like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.”

At 40, Hamilton is not just chasing another title but also chasing history. A record-breaking eighth championship would cement his place as the greatest driver the sport has ever seen. And for Ferrari, it would mark their first title in nearly two decades.

A Dream Move Becomes Reality

Hamilton’s switch to Ferrari wasn’t just a career move; it was a long-awaited moment in F1 history. The Italian team has courted him for years, and when the opportunity finally arose, the timing was perfect.

“The first week was emotional,” Hamilton admitted. “Every day, I walk in and see the Ferrari shield. It’s a reminder of what we’re working toward.”

Since 2021, Ferrari has struggled to reclaim its former dominance. But Hamilton believes they have what it takes. “This team has absolutely everything to win,” he said. “It’s about putting the pieces together.”

A Fresh Start After Mercedes Frustrations

Mercedes’ struggles in the last three seasons left Hamilton restless. Though he delivered flashes of brilliance—like his stunning British Grand Prix victory—he lacked the consistency needed for a title run.

Now, Ferrari offers him something Mercedes couldn’t: a new challenge with fresh energy. “I never thought I’d have this much excitement at this stage in my life,” he said. “I’m massively challenged, but it’s invigorating.”

With the 2025 season set to kick off in Melbourne on March 16, Hamilton knows success isn’t guaranteed. But he’s betting big on Ferrari’s resurgence.

Title Number Eight? Hamilton’s Response: ‘To Me, It Would Be the First’

While the world sees an eighth title as his legacy-defining moment, Hamilton views it differently. “Winning with Ferrari would be the first,” he said. “That’s what I’m working toward.”

For Ferrari, a championship would be more than just a trophy—it would be a return to the pinnacle of motorsport after years of near-misses. And for Hamilton, it would be proof that his move to Maranello was the right one.

“If I win another title, I don’t see myself stopping,” he added. “This journey is far from over.”
