TAG Heuer and Porsche, who first united forces in 2021, are coming together once again to introduce the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche. These two iconic brands not only share a rich history of accomplishments but also a dedication to delivering high-performance products.

This collaboration is particularly remarkable because it coincides with the 60th anniversary of the TAG Heuer Carrera Collection and the Porsche 911.

The Porsche 911, initially introduced as the 901 in 1963, burst onto the automotive scene, capturing the admiration of collectors and car enthusiasts worldwide. Crafted by Ferdinand Alexander “Butzi” Porsche, this engineering marvel could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.1 seconds, setting new standards for power and performance.

This groundbreaking achievement laid the groundwork for a lineage of Porsche 911 models that pushed the boundaries of automotive excellence. The name “Carrera,” synonymous with power, speed, and agility, drew inspiration from the Carrera Panamericana race held in Mexico. Much like the original Porsche 911, this watch marked a transition towards modern, updated styles, continuing to be revered by watch enthusiasts and car aficionados.

In the 1970s, the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 emerged as an iconic sports car, building on the success of its predecessor. In line with the shared vision of these two prestigious brands, they introduced the TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche RS 2.7 timepieces in October 2022, commemorating the 50th anniversary of this exceptional car model. Now, as a tribute to the original 911, TAG Heuer and Porsche have returned with a new timepiece that honors the 911’s graceful proportions, legacy of performance, and unmatched speed.

Carrera Chronosprint

The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche is available in both Steel and Gold editions. In homage to Porsche’s record-breaking speed, TAG Heuer has developed a new movement designed for precise measurements of short time intervals.

The TH20-08 Automatic movement emulates the rapid acceleration of the original Porsche 901, featuring a central hand with two snail-shaped wheels that accelerate and decelerate swiftly, ensuring unparalleled timekeeping accuracy.

Enhancing the watch’s allure are design elements and technical features such as a 42 mm case, a double glassbox, red lines on the flange resembling the movement of a sports car, a 6 o’clock subdial reminiscent of 1970s retro dashboards, and a 9 o’clock subdial bearing a striking resemblance to a car’s RPM counter. These meticulous details pay tribute to Porsche’s iconic automotive design aesthetic.

For those seeking elegance, the gold version offers a refined appearance, while the steel version adds a sporty touch to any attire. Both models feature a calfskin strap embossed with the iconic number “911.” Super-LumiNova® technology is integrated into both versions to enhance visibility under various conditions.
