Rolls-Royce recently announced the successful completion of its extensive testing program for the all-electric Spectre, marking a significant milestone for the luxury brand. As the first all-electric vehicle from Rolls-Royce, the Spectre is set to redefine the genre of super coupés.
Key things you should know about this groundbreaking electric car.
The Rolls-Royce Spectre represents a groundbreaking leap in the world of luxury electric vehicles, combining outstanding performance, exquisite design, and cutting-edge technology. As the brand’s first all-electric car, it sets a new standard for automotive innovation and luxury.
All-Electric Drivetrain:
The Spectre is equipped with two Separately Excited Synchronous Motors (SSMs), delivering impressive power. The front electric motor generates 190kW (258hp) with 365 Nm of torque, while the rear motor boasts 360kW (489hp) and 710 Nm of torque.
Performance:
With its all-electric drivetrain, the Spectre achieves performance equivalent to an internal combustion engine producing 430kW (584 hp) and 900Nm of torque. This allows the Spectre to accelerate from 0 to 60mph in just 4.4 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds).
Long-Lasting Battery:
The Spectre utilizes a 102kWh lithium-ion battery, crafted using cobalt and lithium. When fully charged, this impressive battery enables the 2.9-tonne two-door, four-seat coupé to travel up to 530 kilometers (329 miles) on a single charge.
Efficient and fast charging:
Charging the Spectre is convenient and relatively quick. Utilizing a 195 kW (DC) fast charger, the vehicle can reach a 10-80% charge in just 34 minutes. Even more impressive, a nine-minute charge using this system provides a sufficient range of approximately 100 kilometres.
Unique Pantheon Grille:
The Spectre showcases a Pantheon grille, the widest grille ever installed on a Rolls-Royce. Illuminated by 22 LEDs, the polished stainless-steel vanes create an elegant and three-dimensional signature, especially captivating during nighttime drives.
Grand Coach Doors:
The Spectre features spectacular laser-welded pillarless coach doors made entirely of aluminum. These remarkable doors measure almost 1.5 meters in length, making them the largest ever fitted to a Rolls-Royce. Furthermore, the driver’s door automatically closes when the brake pedal is pressed, showcasing a unique and luxurious touch.
Starlight:
A true highlight of the Spectre is its Starlight Doors, featuring 4,796 softly illuminated ‘stars.’ This exquisite feature, a first in a series production Rolls-Royce, adds a touch of enchantment. Alternatively, customers can choose Canadel panelling, handcrafted from a selection of exquisite wood.
Price Tag:
It’s worth noting that the all-electric Rolls-Royce Spectre Coupe comes with a base price of £330,000 ($420,000) for the ultra-premium options. This makes it approximately £100,000 more expensive than the Cadillac Celestiq. With additional customizations, the price can reach as high as £450,000 ($572,000).
