The Mercedes-Benz Universal Motor Garat (Unimog) was originally produced between 1948 and 1938 as a versatile vehicle intended for agricultural overlanding and navigating challenging terrain.
Today, the Unimog has gained a following as a highly sought-after collector’s item, with enthusiasts including Arnold Schwarzenegger and members of the global elite racing circuit drawn to its unique aesthetic and vintage appeal.
To revive this iconic piece of automotive history, Rally, a real stock market for collectibles, has collaborated with Daniel Arsham and Stone Island to create a one-of-a-kind Unimog 404, built as a traveling maintenance and rescue race companion.
This customized Unimog 404 is part of Stone Island and Daniel Arsham’s “Safari” project, which was first introduced in early 2022. The Unimog was designed to accompany a custom off-road 1986 Porsche 911 Turbo on long-distance rallies, providing rescue and repair assistance if needed. Arsham contributed design work to the body and interior of the Unimog, and the bed of the truck is covered with bespoke Stone Island Tela Stella material.
Although the Porsche will remain in Arsham’s personal collection, the Unimog 404 is being sold as a fully SEC-approved security, with 6,750 shares offered to investors at $20 USD per share. Once all initial offering shares have been sold, the Unimog 404 will be housed and maintained alongside Rally’s entire fleet of vehicles at its east coast facility, set to debut in the spring.
