More than 10,000 trucks have now been registered under Lagos State’s E-Call Up System, which began full enforcement along the Lekki-Epe Corridor on August 1, 2025. The initiative aims to ease traffic, end illegal parking, and improve road safety near the busy Lekki Free Trade Zone.
The E-Call Up System works like a digital queue. Only trucks that are registered, validated, and electronically cleared will be allowed access to seven new designated truck parks. From there, they will receive real-time notifications indicating when and where to move, reducing chaotic roadside waiting.
This is a major step toward smarter mobility as truckers now save fuel, residents see less traffic, and businesses lose less time to gridlock. To support adoption, park fees were reduced from ₦12,500 to ₦10,000, and public awareness campaigns were launched across radio, community centres, and transport unions.
The state government says the goal is simple: protect roads, reduce accidents, and keep Nigeria’s economic lifeline moving. With more trucks joining daily, officials urge transporters and logistics companies to complete their E-Call Up registration and comply with the new rules.
