Jaguar has revealed its highly anticipated first electric vehicle under its new identity; the Type 00 Concept. Unveiled at Miami Art Week, the electric vehicle (EV) marks a significant shift for the brand, which has recently undergone a controversial rebrand. The Type 00 is set to become the foundation for all future Jaguars, embodying the marque’s bold new direction.

Scheduled for production in late 2025, the EV promises impressive performance. Jaguar expects the production model to offer up to 770 km of range on the WLTP standard, with 321 km of range added in just 15 minutes of charging. The car will feature two additional doors and seats compared to the concept, and will be built on Jaguar’s all-new Electric Architecture.

The Type 00’s design draws inspiration from Jaguar’s founder, Sir William Lyons, with a modern twist. Its name reflects both its environmental credentials—zero tailpipe emissions—and its place as the first in a new line of electric vehicles for the brand. The car features bold proportions, a sweeping roofline, and dramatic 23-inch wheels. Its distinctive front includes lightning signature details, while the rear boasts a glassless tailgate and panoramic roof.

Jaguar Managing Director Rawdon Glover commented, “We’ve forged a fearlessly creative new character for Jaguar that is true to the DNA of the brand but future-facing, relevant, and one that really stands out.”

Inside, the Type 00 showcases a minimalist, modernist cabin with hand-finished brass accents and floating instrument panels. The cabin features a “Prism case” that allows occupants to personalize their experience, adjusting lighting, scent, and sound to suit their mood.

This unveiling marks a major milestone in Jaguar’s electric transition, as it plans to cease production of internal combustion engine vehicles. From 2025, Jaguar aims to engage customers in new immersive experiences, with the first of several exclusive stores set to open in Paris’ luxury fashion district.
