BMW and TYDE have unveiled THE ICON, the world’s first battery-powered marine craft that combines the elements of a boat and an architectural marvel. As part of BMW’s commitment to electrified mobility, they have shifted their focus from cars and motorbikes to venture into the realm of yachts.

THE ICON is a stunning marine craft created in collaboration with TYDE, showcasing a unique architectural design. It features two 100 kW electric motors powered by a total of six BMW i3 batteries, providing 240 kWh of energy. This innovative propulsion system enables THE ICON to achieve a range of approximately 100 km and a top speed of 55 km/h on water.

One remarkable aspect of THE ICON is its near-silent operation, producing no waves or vibrations that could disrupt the tranquility of the sea. The boat offers a luxurious voyage experience, complemented by a custom soundtrack composed by Hans Zimmer that enhances the boat’s functionality and driving experience.

With a length of 13.15 meters, THE ICON offers ample space for a crew and the owner to indulge in its luxurious features. The exterior design takes inspiration from origami, resulting in an angular and sculptural appearance. LED lights adorn the hull, providing an enchanting display day and night. Inside, the boat features angled glass doors, 360° rotating seats, a 6K 32-inch touchscreen display, and artistically designed furniture that reflects the creativity of the exterior design.

To catch a glimpse of THE ICON, you can view the pictures online or experience it in person at the 76th Cannes Film Festival.
