Acura, a luxury and performance car brand under Honda, recently launched its newest vehicle, the 2024 Acura Integra Type S. The car features Acura’s strong racing heritage and is the most powerful Integra released to date. The official unveiling of the car took place during the 48th annual Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, where attendees had the opportunity to see a life-size version of Uncle Noboru’s Type S garage from the anime series “Chiaki’s Journey.”
“Chiaki’s Journey” is an anime series that follows the journey of racing protégé Chiaki, who competes in Colorado’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb using the Type S. Acura released four new episodes of the series, and viewers can watch them online. The company tied the release of the anime’s second season with the launch of the 2024 Integra Type S, with Acuras throughout the event being decorated in anime-style wraps.
The 2024 Integra Type S packs a turbocharged capacity and will make its official motorsports debut in June. The car is set to participate in The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, with race car driver Loni Unser at the helm.
To catch a glimpse of the new car in action, viewers can watch the trailer for season two of “Chiaki’s Journey” and stream all four episodes.
