Poland’s car market hit a new milestone in 2025, with 667,578 new car registrations, the highest in the country’s history.
This surpasses the previous record set in 1999, when 640,183 vehicles were registered during Poland’s economic transformation.
December Sets Record Month
December alone saw 76,290 new vehicles registered, a 21.6% increase over the same month in 2024. Experts attribute the rise to growing consumer demand, easier access to financing, and a wider choice of models—including hybrids and electric vehicles.
Toyota and Skoda Lead the Market
Japanese giant Toyota remained the top-selling brand with 92,123 registrations, despite an 11.3% drop from 2024, holding a 15.4% market share. The Toyota Corolla was the most registered model of the year at 23,468 units. Skoda followed with 65,508 registrations, while the Skoda Octavia overtook the Corolla in December to become the most registered model of the month.
Rise of Chinese Car Brands
Chinese manufacturers are expanding rapidly in Poland. In December, Chinese brands sold 9,821 vehicles, nearly double November’s total, giving them a record 14.5% market share for the month and 8.2% for 2025. Popular models include the Jaecoo 7 and MG HS, showing strong consumer interest in non-European brands.
Market Transformation
The market today reflects higher incomes, growing competition, and a move beyond basic vehicles. Polish buyers now choose from a broad spectrum of options, including electric and hybrid vehicles, signaling a shift in consumer behavior and long-term market growth.
Outlook
Analysts expect the trend to continue, with Chinese brands gaining more market share and EV adoption rising as infrastructure improves. The 2025 surge highlights Poland’s status as one of Europe’s fastest-growing automotive markets.
