Formula 1 fans are gearing up for an unprecedented 2026 season, with teams set to reveal new-look cars, liveries, and engines ahead of the 24-race calendar beginning in March. Pre-season testing kicks off in Barcelona on January 26, but launch events are already creating a buzz.

Launch Dates and Highlights

Red Bull and Racing Bulls will unveil their 2026 liveries at the Ford event in Detroit on January 15, kicking off the launch season. Haas moved its VF-26 launch to January 19 to avoid clashing with Ferrari and Alpine. Audi’s Sauber transition will debut in Berlin on January 20, while Aston Martin’s Honda-powered AMR26 will be revealed in Tokyo on the same day.

Mercedes, Ferrari, Alpine and Williams all have scheduled unveilings, with Mercedes’ W17 expected on January 22, Ferrari on January 23, Alpine also on the 23rd, and Williams on February 3. The new American team Cadillac will reveal their car during the Super Bowl on February 8.

Major Regulation Overhaul
The 2026 season introduces sweeping technical changes to power units, chassis, and aerodynamics. F1 is replacing the DRS system with “Overtake Mode,” allowing cars to temporarily boost power on straights if within one second of a rival. Active Aero—front and rear wings that move before and after corners—aims to make overtaking easier and racing closer than ever.

Impact on the Grid
With a 50-50 split between electrical and internal combustion engine power, teams are preparing to optimize performance under the new regulations. Industry experts suggest early success in 2026 could define competitiveness for the next five seasons. Fans and sponsors alike are watching closely as Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull adapt to the biggest technical shake-up in F1 history.

Sky Sports F1 will broadcast live coverage of all events, giving fans around the world the first look at the new cars in action.
