Porsche, a German automobile manufacturer produced the Porsche Vision 357 to mark 75th anniversary of their first automobile, the 356 No. 1 Roadster. This Vision car is based on Porsche’s technological platform 718 Cayman GT4 RS, which produces 493 horsepower from a 4.0-liter flat-six.
“We produced a very special birthday present in the form of the Porsche Vision 357, which leverages the 356 as a foundation to emphasise the importance of our design DNA,” said Michael Mauer, Vice President, Style Porsche. “The concept automobile is an attempt to merge the past, present, and future with coherence, with proportions reminiscent of its historical archetype and details that represent the future vision.”
In appearance, the split windscreen featured on earlier variants of the 356 was replaced with black A-pillars where the DLO (daylight opening) design provides the image of a helmet visor. The round headlights, rear grille layout, and use of Ice Grey Metallic and Grivola Grey Metallic are other elements that resembles the original 356.
Also, the Porshe Vison 357’s features include magnesium 20-inch wheels with carbon fiber hubcaps, “75” anniversary logos, natural fiber-reinforced plastic side sills, a quick-release jointless hood, ceramic tailpipes with titanium trim, a large front spoiler, and intakes positioned high behind the driver and passenger-side windows.
With Vision 357, Porsche combines the past, present, and future.

Porsche is commemorating the 75th anniversary of the 356 No. 1 Roadster, its first automobile. The Porsche Vision 357 was designed just for this occasion. This Vision car is based on Porsche’s technological platform 718 Cayman GT4 RS, which has a 4.0-liter flat-six engine with 493 horsepower.
“We produced a very special birthday present in the form of the Porsche Vision 357, one that uses the 356 as a foundation to emphasise the importance of our design DNA,” said Michael Mauer, Vice President Style Porsche. “The concept car is an attempt to integrate the past, present, and future with coherence, with proportions reminiscent of its historical archetype and details that represent the future vision.”
The Porsche Vision 357 envisions a compact passenger cell with a sloping flyline and huge broad shoulders as a new take on the historic 356. The split windscreen found on earlier variants of the 356 has been replaced by black A-pillars with a DLO (daylight opening) design that provides the image of a helmet visor. The circular headlights, rear grille layout, and use of Ice Grey Metallic and Grivola Grey Metallic are also reminiscent of the original 356.
Magnesium 20-inch wheels with carbon fibre hubcaps, “75” anniversary logos, natural fiber-reinforced plastic side sills, a quick-release jointless hood, ceramic tailpipes with titanium trim, a large front spoiler, and intakes positioned high behind the driver and passenger-side windows are among the features of the Vison 357.
The Porsche Vision 357 is now on exhibition in Berlin and will be there until the middle of February.
