Kia Motors has revealed its latest addition to its electric vehicle (EV) lineup, the EV9 SUV. The all-new EV9 follows on from the success of the EV6 and EV6 GT models, marking Kia’s continued commitment to expanding its line of electric cars.
“Kia EV9 brings together elements from the natural and material worlds to create a design that combines the boldness and capability of an SUV with the serene calmness of a sophisticated EV, according to Kia. “EV9 is here to reshape the way we move with its bold and authentic design redefines standards, paving new paths for future electric SUVs.”
The EV9 showcases Kia’s “Opposites United” philosophy, combining a futuristic design with off-road capabilities. The exterior is boxy and pointed with clean lines, featuring a Digital Pattern Lighting Grille and Star Map LED daytime running lights. The geometric wheel arches give it a retro-futuristic ruggedness, while the black bar wheels deliver stark contrast.
Inside, the EV9 features a fuss-free layout with two 12.3” touch screens for infotainment and a five-inch driver’s display. The second row of seats swivels, creating a lounge-like environment between the second and third rows.
The power source for the EV9 is yet to be revealed, but it is expected to feature a minimum 77.4kWh battery, offering upwards of 300 miles of range and fast charging. More information is expected to be released when the EV9 is launched globally in late March.
Kia’s retro-futuristic design and commitment to expanding its electric vehicle lineup make the EV9 an exciting addition to the market.
