Ferrari has revealed an ultra-exclusive version of its hybrid sports car, the Piloti Ferrari 296 Speciale. But unless you’re a race car driver, don’t expect to own one.

Unveiled on the eve of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the new 296 Speciale is available only to Ferrari clients who actively race in the brand’s official motorsport programs. That includes professional drivers, amateur racers, and even Ferrari’s own Formula 1 stars like Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton.

Inspired by the victorious 499P hypercar, which just delivered Ferrari’s third straight win at Le Mans, the 296 Speciale carries striking design elements drawn straight from the racetrack. These include a customisable race number, the Italian tricolour on the bumper, and a hand-painted World Endurance Championship logo. The display model wore number 51, a nod to the Ferrari that broke a six-decade drought by winning Le Mans in 2023.

Inside, Ferrari equips the car with Alcantara racing seats, fireproof fabric inserts, and extensive use of carbon fiber. It’s powered by a plug-in hybrid setup combining a twin-turbocharged V6 and electric motor to deliver a jaw-dropping 867 horsepower through an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Ferrari has not disclosed the price, but estimates suggest it will approach or exceed $500,000, especially with the Tailor-Made customisation options available.
