Cadillac is turning heads once again, this time with a $340,000 statement of intent.

The all-electric Celestiq, hand-built from the ground up, combines cutting-edge innovation with old-school craftsmanship. Offering 655 horsepower and a 0–60 mph sprint in just 3.7 seconds, the Celestiq is as powerful as it is elegant. But the performance is just one piece of a much more personal story.

Buyers aren’t just picking trim levels or paint colours, they’re engaging in a months-long collaboration with GM’s design team. From embossed family crests to embroidered upholstery, each Celestiq is crafted to reflect the owner’s unique identity. With more than 350,000 possible combinations, no two cars are alike, a rarity in today’s mass-produced world.

At over 5.5 metres long, with a wheelbase exceeding the Cadillac Escalade, the Celestiq has a commanding presence. Yet on the road, it glides with the agility of a much smaller car, offering whisper-quiet comfort, even in noisy city traffic. Engineers say it’s the quietest Cadillac ever built—thanks to extensive acoustic tuning and top-tier cabin insulation.

Underneath its sculpted body lies a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup delivering 646 lb-ft of torque and a top speed of 130 mph. The 111 kWh battery offers up to 303 miles of range, with 75 miles added in just 10 minutes on a fast charger.

But this isn’t just a tech showcase, it’s also a return to Cadillac’s bespoke roots. The Celestiq is the first hand-built production Cadillac since the 1957 Eldorado Brougham, with assembly taking place at GM’s Technical Center in Michigan. Here, only two cars are made each day, crafted by a small team of skilled artisans.

Among its many innovations is the largest 3D-printed part ever made by GM—the steering wheel casing—alongside laser-etched, backlit controls and a smart glass roof that passengers can individually dim. Even the floors can be trimmed in leather, or covered with mats made from eucalyptus fibres.

Whether this $340,000 flagship can lead Cadillac to the top of the U.S. luxury EV market remains to be seen. But with its visionary tech, personalized detail, and bold American confidence, the Celestiq is a powerful first step.
