Nigerian carrier Air Peace has released its flight performance report for March 2024, highlighting strides in on-time departures and schedule reliability. The airline is also hinting at possible future expansion into the United States market, with Texas and New York mentioned as potential destinations.
According to a social media post by Air Peace, the airline achieved a 98% schedule reliability rate in March, with 77% of flights departing on time. This represents a significant improvement compared to February, with a 7% increase in on-time performance and a 2% rise in schedule reliability.
“We are committed to providing peaceful connectivity to our esteemed customers,” the airline stated in the post. “We wi
ll continue to improve our service delivery.”
The report also detailed the number of flights operated in March. Air Peace had scheduled 2,759 flights, of which 2,700 took off as planned. However, 600 flights experienced delays, while 122 were rescheduled and 30 were cancelled. The airline attributed these disruptions to factors such as bird strikes, adverse weather conditions, and unscheduled maintenance.
While focusing on improving its domestic operations, Air Peace also hinted at potential future expansion into the lucrative US market. Although details remain scarce, industry insiders speculate that the airline might be considering launching flights to major hubs like Houston and New York. This move would cater to the growing demand for direct flights between Nigeria and the United States, particularly for business and leisure travelers.
