A Porsche masterpiece reimagined by the world-renowned restoration firm Singer Vehicle Design is expected to fetch up to $2.25 million when it goes under the hammer this week. The exclusive model, a 1990 Porsche 911 reimagined through Singer’s Classic Turbo program, marks the first of its kind to appear at public auction. It will be offered by Bonhams in Miami on May 3, coinciding with the city’s Formula 1 Grand Prix.

The bespoke creation, dubbed the Sun Valley Commission, blends vintage charm with cutting-edge engineering. Originally a 964-generation Porsche 911, it has been meticulously restored and upgraded to honour the legendary 930 Turbo lineage. Singer’s reimagining process strips the car to its bare chassis before rebuilding it with carbon-fibre bodywork, a handcrafted interior, and modern performance enhancements.

Under the bonnet lies a heavily modified 3.8-litre twin-turbo air-cooled flat-six engine producing a formidable 510 horsepower. Paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive, the result is a visceral driving experience. The interior features analogue gauges, period-inspired ivory leather seats with olive accents, and mechanical lumbar support—an homage to old-school craftsmanship with modern comfort.

Finished in a unique Dirty Oak Green Metallic paint and driven for just 270 miles, the car is virtually new. It also includes rare extras such as carbon-ceramic brakes and a matching Singer Flytrack watch. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a Singer creation without a multi-year wait. Classic Turbos start at $855,000 and take nearly two years to build, making the $2.25 million auction estimate unsurprising.

Dave Stone, the Idaho-based owner and long-time client of Singer, described the driving experience as “unbelievable.” He likens the performance to Porsche’s modern Turbo S, saying, “It blurs the lines between scalpel and sword.” The sale of this highly collectible car could set a new benchmark in the rapidly growing market for ultra-exclusive restomods.
