Max Verstappen delivered a commanding performance to win the Qatar Grand Prix on Sunday, clinching his second victory in three races. The Dutchman crossed the finish line 6.03 seconds ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, with McLaren’s Oscar Piastri completing the podium.

The race at the Lusail International Circuit was marked by drama, including three Safety Car appearances and several penalties. Lando Norris, a contender for the podium, received a 10-second stop-go penalty for failing to slow under yellow flags, dropping him to 10th.

Verstappen’s victory extended his dominance this season, solidifying his championship lead. “The car felt amazing today. It’s a great feeling to win here,” said Verstappen after the race.

George Russell, who started from pole, had to settle for fourth after a challenging race, while Pierre Gasly secured fifth for Alpine. Stake F1 celebrated its first points of the year, with Zhou Guanyu finishing eighth and earning the Driver of the Day accolade.

The race’s chaotic moments included early retirements by Nico Hulkenberg, Franco Colapinto, and Esteban Ocon after a first-lap collision. Lance Stroll also exited early following contact with Alex Albon.
